Aliah University, WBMDFC offer minority students free coaching for Civil Services exam

Kolkata: Aliah University of Kolkata, A UGC approved autonomous Institution under the Department of Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education, Government of West Bengal has offered free coaching for Civil Services Examination 2013 to the minority students in collaboration with West Bengal Minority Development & Finance Corporation. The Centre for Vocational Studies of Aliah University will be conducting the coaching facility. The Ministry of Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education is handled by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
The coaching for Civil Services Examination will be provided at Delhi. Selected candidates for the coaching will have to be ready to go to Delhi by 1st week of November, 2012 and remain there till the end of the coaching. They will be provided free food and lodging; the cost will be borne by Aliah University & WBMDFC.
Candidates selected for West Bengal Civil Services coaching will have to stay in a hostel here and attend full time classes. Their cost of food & lodging will also be borne by Aliah University & WBMDFC.
Aliah University authorities have said that only dedicated candidates who have strong ambition for becoming administrators are welcome. Those who opt out in the middle of the course will be liable to pay full expenditure incurred on their training.
Managing Director of WBMDFC Mr Jawed Akhtar told TCN that, this is the first year that IAS & WBCS coaching for minorities will be provided with food & lodging facilities through Centre for Vocational Studies of the Aliah University in collaboration with WBMDFC. The target for this year is at least 10 students for IAS and 50 students for WBCS. Such type of free coaching will be very helpful to the minority students of West Bengal to get the Government Administrative jobs, Mr Akhtar said.
Applications are invited from candidates belonging to Minority Communities with bachelor’s degree or above, from any stream with at least 50% marks at Secondary, HS, and Graduation level. Candidates with less than 50% marks at any level need not apply. The age of applicants should be between 21 years to 28 years as on 01/01/2013. Upper age limit relaxation is three years for OBC candidates both Category `A’ & `B’.
Application form can be downloaded and filed by 29th September, 2012 till 4.30 pm. Filled-in forms can be submitted by hand to the Secretary, CVS, Aliah University, DN-41, Sector-V, Salt Lake City, Kolkata-700091, or sent by registered post/speed post within the stipulated date and time.
Selection Test will be held at Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Bhawan, DD-45, Sector-I, Salt Lake City, Kolkata-700064, on 7th October, 2012 at 11.30 am.

MANUU offers Civil Services coaching for minority candidates

Hyderabad: The Civil Services Examination Coaching Academy of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has invited applications from minority candidates for Civil Services (Mains) other competitive examinations. The last date for applying is 30th June, 2011. The Civil Services Examination Coaching Academy of MANUU has been established by Union Ministry of HRD to provide coaching for civil services and other Services for students from Minority groups. The MANUU-CSE Academy has announced the start of the coaching classes for Civil Services (Mains) and Other Services (Indian Railways, Indian Forest Service, NDS, Judicial Services, etc. The Academy will conduct classes for 4 months to cover the syllabus of Mains Examination. Free Coaching at JMI

The Centre for Coaching and Career Planning of Jamia Millia Islamia runs free coaching programmes for aspirants belonging to SCs, STs, OBCs and Minority communities who wish to prepare themselves for competitive exams either for jobs or higher studies. This year, the success rate of selection of candidates preparing at the Centre has improved from the previous years. According to official figures provided by Jamia, five students associated with the centre have qualified for personality test in IAS, scheduled to be held in March/April 2011. Two students have qualified (Prelims) for Rajasthan PCS and two in J&K PCS.
