UPSC has published Written Result-Civil Services (Main) Exam 2011. It can be checked on its official website. Congratulations to passed and a best of luck for the P.T. Around 2400 students have been declared passed who shall attend the P.T.

1. Selecting an optional is the most important step in CSE. But the prevailing trend is that one opts the subjects in which the largest number of students get through. I would like to mention that the most important factor is not the “numbers”, but the percentage. 1.1 The syllabus prescribed by the UPSC in all subjects is a little tougher than the degree level, but a little lighter than PG level. Change of pattern in mains

The Union Public Service Commission has introduced changes in the pattern of Civil Services (preliminary) examination which is conducted to select candidates for prestigious central services such as IFS, IAS, IRS, IPS and others. Now it is looking forward to bring some changes in the pattern of 'main' examination as well with effect from 2013.A panel has been constituted by UPSC to suggest possible changes in the pattern of Civil Service (main) Examination. Its report is expected to come out early next year.There are three stages in UPSC exam- 'preliminary', 'main' and personality test (interview).
